The eight-year-old great-grandson of an immigrant from Cost’Alta di Bardi is being recognised as a potential professional footballer.

Camillo Strinati Jr., the great-grandson of Camillo Strinati and May Sheridan Strinati, Treherbert, plays football for the Under-9s at Treherbert Boys’ Club.

He was chosen to join other players from the Rhondda Boys’ Clubs to attend trials at Cardiff City FC Development Centre.

9Camillo succeeded in gaining a place and then attended eight weeks of training. He was chosen again to play against other Schools of Excellence. His great-aunt Mary (Camillo Sr.’s daughter) tells us that they are waiting to see if the youngster will play for Cardiff City Football School of Excellence.

We wish him all the best for his future!
