The Amici Val Ceno (Galles) was formed in 1976 by a group of Italians and Welsh Italians living and working in Wales. The main objectives were (and remain) to organise social and cultural events, promoting contact among themselves in social settings, thus maintaining that extra dimension of both Welsh and Italian cultures.

It was to remain strictly non-political as an Association. Profit was to be secondary to the social aspects but any funds raised were to be given to charities of the organisors choice. Over the years we have distributed substancial amounts to charities, mainly in Wales.

The AVC Vision Foundation, founded by AVC members, has changed its name to The Vision Foundation and is now a ‘stand alone’ registered charity. The AVC also continues its small mixed choir (new members always welcome). A firm programme of events is planned every year, with possible extra items added as the year progresses (so look and listen for news of any “extras”!!).

Over the years two of our members have given talks on the Welsh Italian connection to historical societies, WI’s and indeed to anyone who requests them. Sport is also encouraged, including some golf days.

Some founder members have since passed on or moved from Wales, but the Association continues and will continue to serve the Welsh Italian community and their friends in the future.

The Success of this site can only be achieved with the co-operation of persons that contact us who are willing to provide us with information and or pictures on any subject that may create more interest in the A.V.C.
