This years Scampagnata was a resounding success; the turnout was fantastic and it was great to see so many new faces. We would like to thank everyone who came – without your attendance the Scampagnata wouldn’t be the brilliant day that it is.

22nd June proved to be a fantastic day… the weather was great, as was the turnout. It was brilliant to see so many faces this year. And, not to forget, after a game which lasted well into the evening – this years bocce champions were Gerard Opel and Paul Tambini – congratulations both!

Get ready for Summer, the Scampagnata is coming – get practicing your bocce! As usual, children welcome – they’ll have lots of activities including a bouncy castle, tug-o-war and other games. Not forgetting the famous bocce tournament and annual raffle. —- RESCHEDULED TO 1st JULY —- Get ready for Summer, the Scampagnata is coming. As well as the world famous bocce tournament this year we’ll also have a Mini Olympics! Also, we need your help! Please can you get in touch to let us know if have a replica Olympic torch for our Mini Olympics.
Over for another year, the Scampagnata was a great success. Despite being rained off the quickly rescheduled day saw amazing weather and was great fun for all. The new venue was a success – the smaller field suited our needs perfectly.

UPDATE: by Dino Carpanini With a forecast of an unpredictable summer for us to look forward to, Sunday June 21st did not prove to be an exception. The day dawned cloudy with the heavy scent of dampness in the air. As usual, the AVC committee were first on the scene to prepare for the day – setting up the bocce rinks, the sound system, car parking etc.
